We’re pleased to be introducing air source heat pump installations as part of our services in 2026.
Heat pumps are a modern, energy-efficient heating solution that use renewable heat from the air outside to warm your home and hot water. They’re becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners looking to reduce energy usage and
future-proof their property.
How Does an Air Source Heat Pump Work?
An air source heat pump works in a similar way to a refrigerator but in reverse:
1. Air is drawn in from outside, even in cold weather, and passed over
a refrigerant-filled coil.
2. The refrigerant absorbs the heat and turns into a gas.
3. The compressor increases the temperature of the gas to a usable level.
4. The heat is transferred into your home, supplying radiators, underfloor heating,
or your hot water cylinder.
5. The refrigerant then cools, and the cycle repeats continuously moving renewable heat from outside to inside.
